I have more than 19 years experience as a TEFL English teacher, senior teacher and Director of Studies. I have been teaching online since October 2016 and mainly teach business and general English to groups of students and one-to-one lessons to mainland China.
I really love teaching and find online teaching is very rewarding for both the students and the teacher. It's been fantastic seeing students progress and I have many regular students who have been taking lessons with me for more than 18 months.
I was an Advanced Research scholar at Queens' College, Cambridge, researching AI and machine learning at the Dept. of Engineering and the Computer Laboratory. I was also a scholar on viola, violin and euphonium at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama in London.
Alongside my educational, academic and musical background I have worked in large corporations, including multi-national Japanese, American and British companies as a business and IT consultant. I love talking about business topics and exchanging ideas which work in Asia, Americas and Europe.
The most rewarding thing about teaching English is the variety and depths of insights that students provide. Learning English is a long journey and it's a great privilege to help students achieve their personal and professional aims via English language. It's also a great privilege to hear about their personal situations and lives and share experiences about life in the United Kingdom.
Along with teaching English I also am director of my own software development company in the UK focusing on blockchain technology and crypto-derivatives & I still make time for professional music on violin, electric violin, viola and keyboards.

I have prepared students successfully for IELTS (general & academic), Cambridge FCE, CAE, CPE. Over 19 years of teaching I have encountered many different kinds of students and learnt how to be student-specific to learner needs.
I can communicate grammar points and use drills effectively to reinforce learning and engage students motivation and interest. I have successful experience in conversational English, pronunciation correction, exam preparation, English for specialist and academic purposes, business ex3cutive English and have tutored students from true beginner level right through to near-native fluency levels.
I like building a rapport with each individual student and finding the best ways to motivate and encourage each to make progress in every single lesson, providing a road-map of how to progress and helping each student set realistic but challenging objectives for their functional English skills, which then can pervade all aspects and contact hours with them.
Teaching is a wonderful profession which I find personally rewarding and enjoyable. I hope this enthusiasm translates itself through lessons to students.
