My name is Virginie and I’m 35 years old. I’m a native French speaker from Belgium and I’m currently travelling in the South of France.
I'm an experienced French and Computer Teacher. I used to teach people from all levels and backgrounds in Belgium.
In 2013 I realised my bigger dream: travelling and working around Australia.
Today I have combined my two careers: teach French online to people who would rather develop their skills in their own environment.
- Certificate for Teaching at Higher Education Level
- Bachelor’s Degree in Multimedia Writing
- Training Teaching fFrench as a Foreign Language
I started my teaching career in Belgium almost 10 years ago. At that time I was working in a multicultural environment as a computer teacher. I was helping jobless people to apply online for jobs. A lot of them where immigrants and couldn’t speak French so I started to use new technologies to assist them with the language. Often, I had to improvise activities through the computer to help them with their French. My delight for teaching French as a foreign language was born.
After more than a year of doing so, I finally settled in Queensland. Over there, I really enjoyed teaching my native language to adults and children. Sharing more than just words: I liked to share an entire culture.
I worked for 15 months at Lingua Franca a small private French school in Brisbane where I taught French as a foreign language to adults in group and private lessons. I also run DELF training programs to prepare student for special exams. It was a rewarding experience with which I have learnt to be familiar with the Australian public.
After that useful experience I worked in a more formal institute and I started teaching for the Alliance Française de la Sunshine Coast.
During that time, I had the great opportunity to represent the Alliance in Nouméa (New Caledonia) for the 9th Forum Francophone du Pacifique. I also attend as French judge for the annual MLTAQ Sunshine Coast Speech Competition.
When I moved back home to Belgium in 2017 my Australian students wanted to keep learning with me. So I combined my two careers and started teaching online.
Now I’m about to realise my second dream: teaching online as I’m travelling the world....
“I want to learn French, now is the right time, but where should I start?”
“I learnt French at school such a long time ago, I think I need to start again with the basics”
“I’m leaving for France in a few weeks and apparently they don’t speak English… I want to learn a few useful phrases before my trip”
Have you ever had these thoughts cross your mind? If the reply is “Yes” I can help you.
Learning French with me is an interesting and fun activity with a different approaches. I love to make learning a fairly challenging language fun and an enjoyable experience.
I always plan lessons with notable structure and foresight
I usually create my own tools and exercises but if you would rather use a standard method, I can work with different books depending on your needs: Défi, Alter Ego+, Grammaire progressive du française, les clés du nouveau DELF, etc...
In any case, the content can easily differ according to the desire and the objectives of each learner.
Why don’t we meet for a session to talk about what you really want from your French lessons?
