About me - English

Hi, I'm David and I am Italian. I am a teacher and a traveller. I have lived in many places in my life, such as the UK, New Zealand, the Netherlands, Romania. Now I live in Kursk (Russia), where I teach Italian as a foreign language at the South-West State University. In every place, I met different and interesting people, so I decided to keep on travelling this world as much as I can.

In real life, I am already a teacher. I started to give private lessons to foreign students when I was at university and during my experience in New Zealand, and now I teach at the university and in private schools. Besides Italian, I'm an advanced speaker of English and I can also speak a little bit of Spanish and Russian.

Teaching Approach

I follow the communicative-humanistic approach for teaching languages. In other words, my lessons are based on the development of communicative skills. In the first part, I expose the students to authentic material in Italian, then we together start to analyse specific aspects of the language. But first of all, I work a lot on the motivation and the engagement of my students. I work mostly with original materials in Italian, which I adjust according to the level of competence. I also employ multimedia contents, cloud networks and digital software to facilitate learning, interest and motivation. We can speak about different topics. Indeed, I love travelling, cooking, reading, listening to music and watching films. I am a curious person, so I always find interesting topics to share with other speakers.

In the trial lesson I ask the students to do a placement test and to introduce themselves and explaining their motivation for learning Italian. After analysing together their needs we design together a plan to achieve the students' goals.

About me - Italian

Ora vivo a Kursk, in Russia, dove insegno Italiano come lingua straniera alla South-Western State University.
