Welcome!
My name is Amir and I love learning and teaching languages. I have over 5 years of tutoring experience helping college students learn English, and one year of teaching experience as a professor at Hebei Normal University in China. I have also taught in a high school in the United States 🇺🇸 Currently, I am teaching English online to speakers of other languages. I am also a graduate student. 📚 🤓
I was born and raised in California! 🌊🏄🏻♂️☀️😎
I have a Master’s degree in Linguistics with an emphasis in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages. The other languages that I speak are Spanish and Persian. 🇪🇸 🇮🇷

Qualifications & Experience
I earned a Master of Arts in Linguistics and a Graduate Certificate in TESOL from California State University Long Beach. During my studies, I worked as a English tutor for two years at the university's learning assistance center. After graduating, I worked for one year as an instructor of the Foreign Languages Department at Hebei Normal University in Shijiazhuang, China. Back in the United States, I also have worked as a high school teacher in Tucson, Arizona.
Teaching Approach
I believe that learning a language should be an enjoyable experience and as a tutor I always try to make the session fun and active taking into account the students interests and goals. I like to have the student talking more than I am. That is how I know a tutoring session is going well.
