About me - English
Hi there! I am a native Polish speaker who currently teaches English in a language institute in Peru. I have been teaching English and Polish for more than 4 years by giving private lessons in England, Poland and Peru. I have also been teaching online since 2017.
In my free time, I travel, read books and study Spanish.
Qualifications & Experience
Currently, I work as an English Teacher in a binational institution (Peru - United States) in Trujillo, where I teach the group of students between 6 and 32.
I teach English by giving private classes to the individual students in Peru.
I have a First class honours degree in Travel and Tourism Management (University of Derby).
I lived, for more than 10 years, in the UK where I was giving private classes to English students who wanted to learn Polish.
Teaching Approach
My classes are usually based on practice through speaking with the emphasis on vocabulary, pronunciation, and grammar. In essence, I always focus solely on students' needs and because of this, during my lessons I incorporate many visual materials such as pdf, flashcards, text, images etc. I strive to reduce my speaking time so the student can speak a target language as much as possible. During my first meeting with the new pupil, I always try to evaluate a student's level of a target language by asking many questions. However, I also ask the student about his/her aims and objectives so I can design my class accordingly. I make an objective for each class so we both know (pupil and me) what we are going to practice during the lesson. I like sending homework to my students (if they are willing to undertake it) and during the next meeting, I tend to use warm-up, revision, and an introduction of new material. Nevertheless, depending on the level of language of the student, my classes can have a completely different form (pure conversation, grammar explanation, vocabulary practice, reading etc.)
