About me - English
I'm an American native English speaker with various interests and hobbies that allow me to connect with others. I enjoy music, movies, and television, as well as exercising and reading in my free time. I have worked in the restaurant and coffee industry both in America and abroad, and greatly enjoy meeting and getting to know new people.
Qualifications & Experience
I completed a Master's in Education with an emphasis in Spanish, and have studied language learning methods and habits extensively. I have taught at the university level working with large groups, as well as in education working with administrators. I have also tutored individuals ranging in age from 10-57, and enjoy all the unique ways I can tailor the language learning experience to fit the individual.
Teaching Approach
My approach is highly interactive, focusing on conversation and building confidence of the individual. I use situational interactions to build vocabulary and teach sentence structure, with a lot of emphasis placed on comprehensible input. Where necessary, grammar is introduced and taught in a meaningful way that combines "drills" with real-life encounters so that lessons are as engaging as they are educational.
Soy de EEUU y soy una hablante nativa de inglés con muchos intereses y hobbys que me ayudan a conectarme con los demás. Me gusta la música, películas, y la tele, y también disfruto de ir al gym y leer en mi tiempo libre. He trabajado en restaurantes y cafés en EEUU y al extranjero, y me gusta mucho conocer a los demas.
Qualifications & Experience
Acabé de una maestría de educación, enfasis en español, y estudié los métodos del aprendizaje de lenguas extensamente. He enseñado en la universidad con grupos de mas de 20, y también en escuelas secundarias con administradores. También he dado clases particulares para individuales de edad de 10-57, y me gusta encontrar nuevos métodos en que puedo individualizar el proceso y la experiencia de aprender una nueva lengua.
Teaching Approach
El enfoque que uso es muy interactivo, utilizando las conversaciones para fomentar la confianza del individuo. Practico con situaciones actuales para desarrollar el vocabulario y enseñar la estructura de frases, y todas las interacciones están de una forma comprensible. Donde sea necesario, enseño la gramática con una práctica o lecturas que combinan ejercisios con las conversaciones para que sean divertidas y educativas.
