Hello!
My name is Caroline. I am a native British English teacher from Hertfordshire, but recently moved from France to live in Spain.
I am very passionate about teaching, learning and ensuring my students get the best of me at all times.
I also enjoy hiking, cycling, wine and lazying on the beach!
Qualifications & Experience
I am a fully qualified primary teacher, with an honours degree with many years experience of teaching (more than 20 years). I have been teaching both adults and children, of varying levels, English as a second language for the last 4 years online, in schools and in person. I particularly love teaching children.
I have had students from all over the world, with the Far East and Europe being my main areas. Along with my degree in education, I have TEFL/TESOL 120 certificate.
As a language learner myself (I'm learning French and Spanish), I fully understand the struggles some students may face in both their confidence and ability to converse. I believe it is important to ensure the student is comfortable with their lessons, is engaged in their learning and has a course that is specific to their needs. I also feel lessons should be fun and motivating so that the student feels they are succeeding with their learning.
Teaching Approach
As this is my full time job, I believe it is very important to ensure my students get results.
I feel it is necessary to be comfortable and have fun whilst learning ANYTHING! So with this in mind, I aim to provide a fun, stimulating and relaxed environment for each student- adult or child- to learn and make great progress.
Our sessions will focus on developing the language needed for conversations, whilst covering key skills, such as listening and reading. My main goal is to improve your confidence so that you can communicate better in everyday situations.
Before our trial lesson, you will undertake a fully comprehensive evaluation. This will provide me with a complete analysis of your abilities and highlight areas for development. During your trial lesson, I will be able to determine your fluency and talk about areas that need to be improved from the evaluation. We will create a learning plan on what to do to achieve your goals (each of my students receive a tailor- made course, suiting their needs and goals with learning English).
