Hello, my name is Simon King. I am 61 years old and have been teaching English in the UK and abroad for forty years. I love interacting with students from all over the world, accessing their language needs and providing tuition tailor made, to improve their English in an effective, efficient and fun manner.

I have a first degree from Plymouth University and a R.S.A. Diploma in Teaching English as a Foreign Language. I am a qualified Teacher Trainer, teaching the Celta course to Adults. I have many years of experience teaching general English to classes of all sizes and at all levels, from one-to-one to large groups. I love to teach exam classes and have taught F.C.E., CAE, CPE, IELTS, as well as TOEFL AND TOEIC. My students and I have an excellent pass rate.

I have taught in Europe, Asia, and the Middle East working for private schools and government organisations. I also teach English for special purposes, including Business English, English for the Oil Industry, Air Traffic Control and English for academic purposes.

First, I analyse and discuss my student's needs and then stimulate language production to find their areas of strengths and weaknesses. I sensitively correct their errors and give exercises and advice to rapidly correct their errors and recommend how to keep practicing and learning outside the 'Skype classroom'. I can offer advice on all my student's needs concerning pronunciation, writing, grammar, and expert advice on how to pass the current English language examinations such as F.C.E. and IELTS.

I have taught students of all ages and nationalities and I have the experience to anticipate the likely problems that native speakers of say French, Spanish, German or Arabic will have and to offer detailed guidance on how to overcome these problems.

I teach with a kind, patient manner and I believe learning should be fun as well as effective.
