I am fascinated by languages, and as a consequence, I love teaching them. I am originally from Brazil, but lived in Norway for 5 years, and that's how I learned Norwegian. I decided to move back to Brazil. I have to confess: I really love the sun and the beach.

I graduated in the course Letras inglês/ português ( Languages English/ Portuguese) at Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte. The course lasts 4 years. I finished in 2007. Among other disciplines I studied were techniques for writing texts, didactics, semantics, syntax, phonetics, phonology, linguistics, literature, and psychology. I graduated with an overall score of 8.0 on a scale from 0.0 to 10.0.

I lived in Norway for 5 years, worked and studied Norwegian there. I passed the Norwegian test – higher level ( test I norsk- høyere nivå) and the Norwegian test 3 ( norsk prøve 3).

I taught English for 4 years in a small school in Natal/ Brazil. After that, I worked in Senac (Serviço Nacional de Aprendizagem Comercial/ National Services of Commercial Learning), teaching English for 3 years.

In Norway, I worked as a social worker at the country's largest social services company, NAV, where I participated in a project called New Chance (ny sjanse), teaching English and computer skills to Somali women.

After some time, I started working as a Portuguese teacher at Folkeuniversitetet Øst, where I worked for 2 years before deciding to move back to Brazil. At Folkeuniversitetet, I started with a few students, and after a little while, I got more and more students. I noticed that they were quite satisfied with my didactics and passed the good news around. At this school, I took the IELTS test and scored 6.5 overall.

While working as a Portuguese teacher I was also part of a great social team at the community I used to live. I helped Afghan teenagers by providing support with homework, making them food, etc. It was a great job.

I live in Natal, Brazil, nowadays. I started teaching English and Portuguese via Zoom in 2013. I took a break to focus on my work as an operations coordinator, then returned to teaching. I have worked for an American company as an operations coordinator for almost 10 years.

I am more experienced in teaching adults (more than 15 years of experience).

My students often say that my classes are fun and that they learn a lot while enjoying themselves. As an online teacher, I have used general texts for discussion, music, YouTube, and Google Drive. I try to balance different methods according to the students' needs.

The communicative Approach is my favorite method, as it allows me to create a comfortable environment and simulate real-life experiences in class.

Dentro desse projeto dei aulas de inglês e conhecimentos de informática para as mulheres somalis. Depois de algum tempo eu comecei a trabalhar como professora de português na Folkeuniversitetet Øst. Durou dois anos, porque eu decidi voltar para o Brasil.

Nessa escola eu me submeti a uma prova de proficência em língua inglesa chamada Ielts, e consegui uma nota geral de 6.5.

Na Folkeuniversitetet eu comecei com poucos alunos e depois de algum tempo eu fui ganhando mais e mais estudantes. Eu notei que eles ficaram bastante satisfeitos com a minha didática e faziam boa propaganda das minhas aulas.

Enquanto trabalhava como professora de português, eu também fazia parte de uma grande equipe de ajuda social na comunidade em que vivia. Ajudei adolescentes afegãos, fornecendo apoio com as lições de casa, fazendo comida para eles, etc ... Foi um trabalho fantástico!

Hoje em dia moro em Natal no Brasil. Comecei a dar aulas de Inglês e Português via Zoom em 2013. Parei por um tempo para me dedicar ao meu trabalho como coordenadora de operações e, depois, voltei a dar aulas. Há quase 10 anos trabalho para uma empresa americana como coordenadora de operações.

Eu tenho mais experiência com ensino a adultos. (mais de 15 anos de experiência)

Meus alunos dizem com frequência que minhas aulas são divertidas e que aprendem bastante enquanto se divertem.

Como professora online, tenho usado textos em geral para discutirmos em aula, também trabalho com letras de música e uso diversas ferramentas, como YouTube, Google Drive e jogos.

Sempre procuro novas formas de criar lições interessantes, também trabalhando com exercícios mais regulares de sala de aula. Eu tento equilibrar diferentes métodos de acordo com as necessidades dos meus alunos.

A abordagem comunicativa é minha metodologia preferida, é onde eu consigo fazer com que o aluno se sinta a vontade para simular experiências da vida real durante a aula.
