Hello, I would like to introduce myself - I am Grace, I am married to Greg and we have three sons, whose ages are 13, 14 and 15. We live on a farm in North Devon, in the most beautiful area, although it does rain a lot!
Since my childhood I have been fortunate enough to have lived in many fascinating countries around the world, and I have also lived and worked in the province of Granada, Andalucía, Spain for four years, where I had my own translation agency and language tutoring service. I worked closely with the local government, police, courts and local people. I taught both Spanish and English to all age groups, as well to business people in the local community.
I have been teaching English for 8 years, and hold a degree (BA) in modern languages from University of Westminster, London, as well the Institute of Linguists Diploma in French, and the CBLC (Certificate of Business Language Competency) in Spanish.
BA Modern Languages - Spanish, French - University of Westminster, London.
Diploma, French, Institute of Linguists, London.
CBLC - Spanish
Centro de Idiomas de Castril 18816, Granada, Spain.
I tailor all my classes to the individual's needs, and assess each student during the initial lesson to discover their aptitude, and current level. I do this through general conversation, asking the student to tell me about themselves, their families, their aims and aspirations.
Speaking any language that is being studied can be challenging so I try to ensure that the student overcomes their nerves as quickly as possible by not overcorrecting, and always encouraging them and being positive about what they have achieved during the lesson. I also make sure that lesson ends on a happy note, with plans for the following lesson passed on so the student has time to prepare.
