I am a 28 year old Chinese woman living in Beijing. I am a native speaker of Mandarin Chinese.
I graduated from ZhengZhou University with a degree in Chinese literature in 2007. I currently work in the field of education in a joint venture Chinese/European school. I am enthusiastic about meeting new people and learning about new cultures as well as sharing my culture with others. I have lived in China, Malaysia and the Philippines.
I am confident I will excel at online teaching because I have a good sense of humor and am able to use humor and a good rapport with students so that they can learn Chinese regardless of their current language level.
My previous teaching experience lets me refine my skills and techniques to keep students both motivated and energetic to study Chinese.

Teaching Approach
Online teaching is a 1 to 1 teaching environment. Each student requires a different method of teaching. A teaching approach that is successful with one student may not be effective with another student.
My teaching approach is a highly interactive learning environment with each lesson providing the student with a beginning and end within the time frame of the lesson. My approach is not simply chatting with the student in English and teaching them a few useless Chinese phrases or proverbs. I know what students need and I plan my lessons around this.
I build my lessons for each individual student because everyone has their own interests, needs and expectations. Some Chinese teachers focus on pronunciation and make their students perform endless drills to improve and make the pronunciation perfect. This is not my approach. My approach is to build the student's ability to become conversational in Mandarin.
Regardless of the student's level I am able to improve their Mandarin ability by using well planned lessons, positive reinforcement and humor during the teaching time.
