Hello all!

My name is Marta and I am Polish, currently living in Moscow, Russia. I am a Polish language teacher at Moscow State University and I really like this job. Before I started teaching Polish, I taught English and French, but conducting classes in my own language shifted my performance to a completely new level;)

I speak French, English and Russian, so it may facilitate "rough start". Still, I am more into "Polish all the time" approach.

I graduated from Applied Linguistics (language studies - English and French) and I specialize in teaching and translation. After that I completed postgraduate studies in teaching Polish as a foreign language.

I have been working as a translator and a teacher since 2008. Initially, I taught English and French, now I almost completely switched to teaching Polish as I find it the most rewarding and I feel the most proficient at it.

In 2012 I started work at Moscow State University, where I have practical Polish classes, but also some specific courses, related to Polish culture/history/specialized language.

In my free time I work as a subtitler.

Before I start my classes, I always ask student what his or her objective is and this way we can figure out the approach and the main focus.

If it's a general course, I think it's speaking which is the most important at least at the beginning, so I try to make my students speak as much as possible. I also like to revise material regularly and make tests to see the progress of my student.

I am very flexible, so my approach depends a lot on my student, the time he/she can spend on learning outside of class (the amount of homework), his/her objectives, age, interests etc. My flexibility ends when it comes to the use of the second language - I try to minimize it! ;)

Меня зовут Марта и в данный момент я живу в Москве. Я работаю преподавателом польского языка в МГУ и переводчиком из английского и французкого языков.

Ранше, я преподавала также английски и французки, но я решила, что заниматься моим родном языком ето полностю другие дело).

Я говарю по русски, по английски и по французки, и так с начала ето может быть полезным. Но скоро, мы только польский будем использовать!
