About me - English
I am an American born traveler. My passion in life is language so I go and live and work in new places in order to really dive into the language and culture. I graduated from Michigan State University with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English with a focus on creative writing as well as a Bachelor of Arts Degree in German.
After University, I went to China where I taught English at my own training center for 3.5 years. I traveled to Phuket, Thailand for what was supposed to be a two week holiday but decided to stay here and begin learning Thai. I like to keep things fresh and exciting and find the silver lining in everything.
Qualifications & Experience
I graduated from Michigan State University with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English with a focus on creative writing as well as a Bachelor of Arts Degree in German. I owned an English training center in China where I taught English for over 3 years. I've been doing private English lessons for the last 7 years in the various countries I have traveled to and lived in.
I am a language learner and do not only speak English so I am able to understand the difficulties in learning a new language and can break things down in different ways in order to meet any students learning needs.
I've also taught German to Americans while living in Germany.
I've taught Mandarin to English speakers while living in China.
Teaching Approach
My teaching approach changed according to each of my students individual needs, but I do always keep classes fun, refreshing, and positive. I like to generate personalised charts, diagrams, and sayings that help individuals remember the grammar rules in areas that they struggle. I like to keep things personal so that each individual learns the grammar, vocabulary, and even euphemisms that apply best to them and the reasons that they are earning English.
