About me - English
Hello!
My name is Nataliya) I have been teaching English for more than 8 years. I have taught English in many wonderful places around the world - Italy, Russia, Sweden and now Belarus.
I am a British native, born in the north of England and am now living and working in Minsk, Belarus.
I am passionate about languages, both learning and teaching, and come from a whole family of language teachers and professors, so I suppose it's in my blood!
Qualifications & Experience
I graduated from the University of Essex in the UK with a BA in English Language and Linguistics in 2005. I also have an MA in Linguistics of European Languages (with a specialisation in Swedish). I got this diploma at University of Uppsala, Sweden. I've been an online teacher since 2008.
I am a TESOL (Teaching English as a Second or Other Language) qualified teacher with over 8 years teaching experience to all age ranges and ability levels. I have taught in groups, one on one, and privately. Every year I'm invited to take part in the World Prominent Exhibitions as an interpreter. English/Russian, Russian/English.I'm also an author of three books in language teaching methods of studying English with practical exercises.
As a language learner (I have learnt Russian and Italian and am now learning Swedish), I feel that I better understand the needs of a student and how making lessons fun, interesting and tailored to the correct level, encourages learning, feeds motivation and therefore SUCCESS.
Teaching Approach
My approach is personalised to each student. I listen to what the student wants to achieve and plan around their objectives.
I use a lot of authentic material and interactive exercises which help the learner use the language in real life situations. I also do preparation for various certificates (IELTS, TOEFL, CAE etc.), business English, academic English, aviation English and others.
The most important part of language learning is communication. I encourage my students to talk as much as possible, without the fear of making mistakes. The key to success is regular speaking practice with a native speaker.
