About me - English
I live in London, where I have worked as a school teacher and private tutor for the past three years. It's a big exciting city, and home to so many different languages as well. Two of my greatest passions in life are language and learning. As a life-long learner myself, I think the challenge to push and expand one's own mind is the most exciting experience a person can have. I love language for its creative possibilities, requiring even native speakers like me to constantly find new ways of putting thoughts into words and interpreting the world.
I love reading literature, keeping up with world politics, watching sports, films, and listening to good music. Believe it or not, I also really like the weather here in London!

Qualifications & Experience
I am a fully qualified English teacher with experience in a wide variety of schools teaching a wide variety of students. I hold a PGCE in English education from the University of Southampton and achieved a distinction for my research into developing methods of teaching English grammar.
I have taught one-to-one lessons in London for three years, helping students prepare for professional qualifications and academic English exams.
Prior to training as a teacher, I earned my B.A. in journalism and worked as a copy editor at the Jakarta Post, one of southeast Asia's largest daily newspapers.
Teaching Approach
In order for learning to be effective, it must be personal. I will work closely with you to identify your areas of strength and weakness, and develop a plan that is best suited to your needs and interests. Learning English can be hard work, but it should also be an enjoyable, meaningful challenge--in other words, fun!
Lessons with me involve lots and lots of talking, even when we read or watch videos together, these will always be used to begin discussions and explore different aspects of the English language. Additionally, my experience as a professional editor means I can help develop and perfect your writing ability. I can also proofread and edit any professional documents such as CVs, business proposals, or academic essays.
