Hi, my name is Jantawee. My nickname is Nan or you can call me Nancy. Nice to meet you!
I am Thai. My hometown is a famous tourist place called Pattaya. It is a nice city with multi-cultural atmosphere by the beach. I have worked as a language teacher in Pattaya for a couple of years and it was a great experience.
Right now, I am living in Ontario, Canada. I still have students for private lessons regularly, but I would love to teach online so I get to know people from all around the world. It would be my pleasure to help you if you want to get started with learning Thai language.
I have more than 4 years experience in teaching Thai language to foreigners and teaching English to adult learners.
My experiences and training came from working as a Thai and English teacher at The Britannia Language School, located in Pattaya, Thailand, which is licensed by the Ministry of Education. After working with them for 2 years, I have been teaching students for private lessons since.
I conduct my teaching by first getting to know the student, including his/her goal and learning style. Then I prepare lessons according to those criteria so the student can learn faster and enjoy the learning process along the way.
My expertise is working with an absolute beginner since I will be teaching the pronunciation system that the student will use throughout the time he/she is studying with me. There are many pronunciation systems out there and it can get pretty confusing for new learners. My goal is to help you become familiar with the real Thai writing so you don't have to be depended on phonetics anymore.
There are 3 phases when you start to learn a new language.
1. Beginner - This is where you need to start from the right pronunciation and learn how words are put together. A strong foundation in this step will help you learn new vocabulary faster and remember things easier as you go. Listening will be a huge part of learning in this phase.
2. Basic - Sentence structure and grammar will be introduced. Now you get to talk and create many different kinds of sentences and conversations. I will help you to understand the difference between Thai grammar and English grammar so you understand and learn faster. This is where the more you practice, the faster and easier you get to communicate in Thai language.
3. Advance - This is what I call automatic learning. This is the phase where I want to help you get to. Once you have a good understanding of the basics, you get into the phase of automatic learning. You learn new words, idioms, slangs, and new phrases by yourself from talking to people, watching movies, reading books, and so on.
If you want to know how we can work together as a team to help you reach your goal, book a trial session with me so we can get to know each other and go from there. :)
