My name is Jayne, I am British and grew up and completed my studies in England. I taught French in England before settling in France 30 years ago.
I have a great deal (30 years!) of teaching experience to people of all ages, my youngest student at present is 3 years old and I have taught many older people (it's never too late to learn!) the oldest being over 80. I really like helping people to enjoy English and to be able to communicate, whether it be for school, business or pleasure. Obviously my approach is different for the 3 year old and the senior citizen!
My personal hobbies are reading, singing in a choir and acting in a local amateur dramatics group.
I also love my 3 dogs, 3 cats, rabbits and my pair of love birds! Oh, and my husband too! Lol!
I have a teaching degree, Bachelor of Education. I am an oral examiner for Cambridge ESOL exams.
I have taught in schools and at University, I have also taught in businesses to employees through to senior management. I have taught at all levels from absolute beginner through to fluency.
I have also done many translations and worked as an interpreter.
My approach to teaching English depends on the needs of the student but I always try to make it a pleasurable as well as useful experience.
A student who is preparing for exams or who has difficulties with English in school may require more grammar lessons, comprehension and oral work; a business person will need to know how to use business vocabulary and also learn the possible cultural differences to his/her own country; someone who is Learning English for travel and pleasure may wish to do role plays to practice the vocabulary they might need for their holidays.
