My name is Greta, I am Polish and my passion is learning new cultures and new languages. In the past few years I have been living in different European countries (Austria, Croatia, Spain, France) in order to learn, discover and also - find a perfect spot to settle down. Now I live in Porto, Portugal, love this place and am ready to share the knowledge and observations I made about speaking different languages and learning them faster and more efficient. I believe there are many connections between all the languages that make it easier to become fluent in a lot of them.

I completed my master thesis in Croatian language and literature in 2015. Parallel to my studies, I was active as a private German tutor after passing in 2012 the Grosses Deutsches Sprachdiplom exam of Goethe Institut, confirming my ability in using German at the native speaker level (C2). I have been also studying in Vienna at the University of Vienna (Slavic Philology) and the University of Rijeka in Croatia. Apart from giving classes in German, I was also translating various documents from German and Croatian, as well as participating as a translator in business and diplomatic meetings between Poland and Croatia.

I believe that the best way of learning the language is just speaking it, which was confirmed every time I moved to a new country. That is why I always try to adjust the subject of the class to the interests and hobbies of the student and encourage them to speak freely and fluently. On the other hand, I know how important it is to feel sure about the grammar, so I try to transmit it in the class in some interesting way -mostly using a song, poem or a story.

From my own experience I know how hard it is to start speaking any new language, therefore I always create a relaxed and friendly atmosphere in my classes.

Mein Name ist Greta, ich komme aus Polen und ich liebe es, die neuen Sprachen und Kulturen zu entdecken. Seit ein paar Jahren habe ich in verschiedenen Ländern Europas gelebt (Österreich, Kroatien, Frankreich, Spanien), um so viel wie möglich zu lernen aber auch um die ideale Stadt füers Leben zu finden. Mittlerweile wohne ich in Porto, in Portugal, und geniesse es, alles was ich gelernt habe mit den anderen zu teilen.

Sprachenlernen ist meine Leidenschaft und ich glaube, dass es zwischen den meisten Sprachen die Beziehungen gibt, dank deren man sie schneller und einfacher lernen kann. Diese versuche ich immer meinen Studenten zu zeigen.

2014 habe ich in Krakau mein Masterstudium in Kroatischer Sprache und LIteratur abgeschlossen. Pararell dazu erteilte ich Nachhilfestunden in Deutsch. 2012 bestand ich die Grosses Deutsches Sprachdiplom Prüfung von Goethe Institut, was meine Deutschkenntnisse auf dem Muttersprachlerniveau (C2) bestätigte. Während meines Erasmusstipendiums habe ich an der Universtität Wien die Slavische Philologie studiert, und später verbrachte ich ein Semester and der Universität Rijeka (Kroatien). Während meines Studiums war ich auch als Übersetzerin vom Deutschen und Kroatischen tätig, sowohl als auch Dolmetscherin bei den Polnisch - Kroatischen B2B Geschäftstreffen. Die ersten Schritte habe ich auch in Literaturübersetzung gemacht - mit der Übersetzung von einer Erzählung der kroatischen Authorin Ruzica Ascic aus dem Kroatischen ins Deutsche ("Keine Delikatessen" 2015).

Da das wichtigste beim Sprachenlernen ist sie einfach zu sprechen, versuche ich in meinen Stunden immer solche Themen zu besprechen, die für meine Studenten wichtig sind. Ich weiss selbst wie schwer es kommt, eine neue Sprache zu sprechen anzufangen und deswegen kümmere ich mich immer um eine entspannte und freundliche Stimmung in den Stunden. Ich lege auch einen grossen Wert auf die Grammatik und versuche es immer, sie mit der Hilfe von Liedern, Gedichten oder Kurzgeschichten zu erklären.

Mam na imię Greta, pochodzę z Polski, a moją pasją od dawna są obce języki i kultury. W myśl teorii, że poznając nowy język, poznajemy też nową kulturę, od kilku lat mieszkałam w różnych krajach Europy (Austria, Chorwacja, Francja, Hiszpania), starając się jak najwięcej nauczyć i znaleźć idealne miasto na dłużej. Obecnie mieszkam w Porto i z radością dzielę się zdobytą wiedzą i doświadczeniem językowym. Uważam, że pomiędzy językami istnieje wiele połączeń, dzięki którym łatwiej jest się ich uczyć i tak z każdą nową opanowaną mową otwieramy sobie drzwi do następnej. To właśnie staram się pokazać moim uczniom.

W 2015 roku ukończyłam studia magisterskie na Uniwersytecie Jagiellońskim na kierunku Filologia Słowiańska - specjalizacja język chorwacki. Jednocześniem przez cały okres studiów udzielałam korepetycji z języka niemieckiego, w 2012 roku zdałam również organizowany przez Goethe Institut egzamin Grosses Deutsches Sprachdiplom, potwierdzającz znajomość języka niemieckiego na poziomie użytkownika rodzimego (C2). Poza korepetycjami, tłumaczyłam również rozmaite dokumenty i teksty z niemieckiego i chorwackiego, uczestniczyłam także jako tłumacz ustny podczas biznesowych spotkań B2B zorganizowanych w maju 2015 przez Konsula Republiki Chorwacji w Krakowie. Moją pasją jest tłumaczenie literatury, jednym z pierwszych kroków na tym polu było przetłumaczenie opowiadania młodej chorwackiej pisarki Ruzicy Ascic z chorwackiego na niemiecki dla austriackiego magazynu Keine Delikatessen w 2015 roku.

Uważam, że w nauce języka obcego najważniejsze jest mówienie, przełamanie barier, które w naturalny sposób pojawiają się, kiedy przychodzi nam posługiwać się nowym językiem. Dlatego podczas moich lekcji staram się dostosowywać tematykę do zainteresowań ucznia i w ten sposób zachęcać go do wypowiadania się, zawsze też wzbogacam program o muzykę literaturę i filmy danego kraju - poznawanie nowego języka to wszak poznawanie nowej kultury. Zwracam też uwagę na gramatykę, starając się rozwijać ją równocześnie ze zdolnością wpyowiadania się, tak, aby pewne struktury utrwalały się naturalnie. Ponieważ z doświadczenia wiem, jak trudno jest niekiedy przełamać bariery i zacząć płynnie posługiwać się nowym językiem, zawsze dbam o przyjazną i zrelaksowaną atmosferę podczas zajęć.
