My name is Sarah and I'm 43 years old. I am a qualified and experienced secondary teacher of French, German and English as a foreign language. I have been teaching all levels including GCSE and A Level for 18 years firstly in secondary schools, then as a self-employed tutor. I have worked for a major exam board as an assistant examiner for 8 years and have marked GCSE and A Level French and German papers, particularly A Level French speaking.
I completed an INTESOL qualification in Teaching English as a Foreign language in 2011 and taught foreign students for two years. I love teaching and helping students to learn a new language, whatever their level or ability. I have taught all levels, from primary school pupils to business people. I have been teaching online since 2006. I can also speak some Spanish.
Over the past ten years I have specialised in helping students struggling with GCSE and A Level students who are struggling to reach their target grades.
PGCE in secondary education 1998

I am extremely enthusiastic about teaching languages and am very keen to help students pursue their dream of learning a language and becoming an independent learner. I always make sure that I find out what kind of learner you are, and tailor my lessons to your learning styles.
I have been successful in teaching languages to all levels and backgrounds, and believe that as long as you're determined, you can be successful in your lessons and language learning. My main theory behind successful language learning is to learn little and often. That way, you won't overdo it, feel too overwhelmed and you'll enjoy the process much more.
