My name is Bora (it means 'snow' in Albanian). I am a Ph.D. researcher in linguistics at the University of Leiden in Holland, where I focus on the history of Albanian and in particular on the heritage Albanian dialects spoken in Southern Italy.
I have had teaching experience as part of my Ph.D. training, including preparing introductory courses on Albanian for linguists and non-linguists who were interested in the language. In terms of language teaching I've worked mostly with university age or older students. However, I have a lot of training experience outside of language teaching also with children and teenagers. Therefore I think I can be a good teacher for students of all ages.

It would be particularly wonderful if I would be able to teach second generation Albanian immgrants abroad who want to reconnect with their language and culture.
I approach language teaching as one aspect of a broader cultural exploration and learning. Therefore my courses centre not only on building a strong foundation in grammar and pronounciation, but also on integrating the linguistic knowledge in Albania's cultural and historical context. In addition, I strive to accommodate any learning pace, preference and specific interest. In my course, the learning process is one of co-creation of knowledge.
I am glad you are interested in learning Albanian and I hope to help you achieve your learning goals.
