About me - English
Hello!
I'm Alyson and I have been teaching for over 14 years. I have been fortunate enough to teach in South Korea, Thailand and the North and South West of England. I am British and was born in the North of England but now live in Spain.
Teaching has always been a passion of mine and I believe there is nothing more important than my student and helping them to achieve their goals.
Qualifications & Experience
I have a PGCE, QTLS and TEFL certificate.
I started my teaching career in England teaching History and English in mainstream schools. Although I enjoyed this, I have a passion for travel that made me want to combine both my love for teaching and travel. In 2009 I moved to South Korea to teach in an Elementary school. I taught from Grade 1-6 and was able to introduce my classes to a different style of learning that they embraced. I immersed myself into the lifestyle and culture and made many good lifelong friends. Some of my students still email me and enjoy reading about their achievements.
After 2 years in South Korea I decided I wanted a new challenge so I moved to Thailand. Here I taught Elementary school children again and also tutored small groups and taught 1-1. I made my lessons fun and creative while also helping my students to achieve good grades for the four test periods they had each year.
3 years later I moved to the South West of England where I taught Secondary school children English. My desire to travel is still strong so I made the decision to move to Spain in January 2018 and use my many years teaching experience to help students around the world by teaching online.
Teaching Approach
My passion for teaching is as strong today as the day I decided to become a qualified teacher.
Each student is unique, therefore each lesson should be unique and tailored to your needs. Together we will discuss what those needs are and how we can work together to help you achieve your goals.
Learning should be fun and relaxed with a sense of real achievement at the end of each lesson. During the lessons we can focus on the topics and activities that you enjoy. Positive, constructive feedback will help you to improve and grow in confidence and achieve your desired outcomes and I look forward to becoming your teacher
