About me - English
My name is Rachel and I'm an Irish EAL teacher who's super passionate about the English language. I really love teaching it to others! I have several years of experience with teaching students at all levels and age groups. I mostly work with people who have had no previous knowledge of the English language.
I'm a native English speaker who's currently studying to obtain a BA in Primary Education Studies . I have obtained a high level of fluency in four different languages, so I really understand how tough it can be. I currently live in Milan and I find it fascinating how language shapes our perception of the world, and how different languages can impact society
When I'm not teaching or studying, I am usually travelling around, meeting friends and searching for fun things to do in my city.
Qualifications & Experience
I am TEFL qualified and I am currently studying to obtain my BA Hons in Primary Education Studies.
Teaching Approach
My experience has taught me that each student is unique in their preferred way of learning. This is why I like to create a teaching program that is tailored specifically to you, after an initial consultation.
However, my personality and teaching style will shine through, regardless of the specific program we will work through. I am super passionate about what I do! My excitement about helping you progress in your learning will surely make you feel totally relaxed. I want all of my one-on-one sessions to be intriguing and interesting, and you should leave session feeling happier than when it started.
Learning a new language can be difficult and frustrating at times but with my approach and teaching style it should be a great experience no matter what.
I use a variety of media and materials in my teaching, aiming to stimulate all your senses. It's amazing how a rich sensory experience will speed up the learning and enhance recall of the course material.
