Hello, My name is Jeffrey and I am TEFL certified teacher of English. I grew up in the USA never knowing that my future would take me all over the world. I have worked either in the USA with foreign companies or while living in countries teaching English. I have been able to fulfill some of my dreams of living in different cultures and experience new cultures. These experiences have made me a better teacher.

I attended university at the University of Maryland at College Park earning my Bachelors in Government and Politics. From there I worked for an international company before retiring and moving onto teaching English and moving overseas. I have worked in a variety of levels and course types. I have worked in university, school and even kinder gardens, each offers a new perspective on teaching. I have also done many course types including test prep, English for Oil and Gas and many general Enlish courses of all levels.

I really look forward to working with as many of you as I can.

Magistr School Almaty - 2018-Current

This is a private school in Almaty Kazakhstan and I teach students ranging from 2nd Year all the way to 11th Year. We focus on spoken English and projects that are all conducted in English.

Kazakh National Technical University 2016-2018

Worked on a special project with the National Kazakh Uranium Company. I tough three groups, one beginner, one intermediate and one advanced. The students all were required to pass exams certifying their levels in order to receive their Masters degrees.

StudyRoom Learning Center 2014-2016

While working at this learning center I worked with various students from young children to adults. My primary focus was on test prep for students and this inclide IELTS, TOEFL, SAT, GRE and others. Also with this center I work with a local kinder garden every morning.

EuroSpeak Almaty 2012-2014

Working with this company I was placed in Keleshek School, a local math and physics private school. In this school I focused on General English focusing on the Kazakh National Curriculum.

My primary goal of all lessons is to get the student to be able to demonstrate the learning goal. I will demonstrate the topic and work with getting the student more and more confident in using the associated vocabulary or grammar. It is very important that students get to use the lesson points as much as possible in order to lock the information into their minds and gain confidence using it. This makes it easier for the students to recall the lessons primary focus and to be better able to use them in real world situations.
