About me - English
I am from London and have been teaching English online for over 3 years. I enjoy delivering interesting and engaging lessons to motivate my students and to help them to learn effectively. Over the past 3 years all my students have shown excellent progress in the English Language.
I am patient and an excellent communicator which I believe to be essential qualities in a Teacher.
I enjoy swimming, going out with friends and reading a good novel.
Qualifications & Experience
I have had many years of experience in teaching English from children who were just starting out in learning English to adults and IELTS students.
I started off as a volunteer teacher and then went on to teach English as a second language. I completed 2 different TEFL courses (120 Hour TEFL Certificate, 20 Hour Intensive TEFL Certificate) and I also attended a 1 week intensive TESOL course.
Before I started teaching English I worked as a Translator, during this time I completed an intensive English comprehension course.
Teaching Approach
I feel I am a very patient teacher especially when teaching children. As I enjoy teaching very much, I try my best to be enthusiastic during my lessons as this rubs off on students. With children I use props and TRP to keep them fully engaged in the lesson and reward them with a 'gold star' when they do well. With adult students I try to commend them as much as possible as this encouragement always helps them to push themselves a bit further.
I feel it is important to have a relaxed and friendly environment so that the student feels relaxed and not nervous.
