I didn’t know what to expect with this free trial class, I was a bit nervous as I have never done anything like this before. Julieta immediately made me feel comfortable as she explained the structure of her classes and she assess your language skill level by asking several questions before jumping into any material. I'm a native Italian speaker with a degree in teaching Italian as a foreign language and 3 years of experience in tutoring individual learners online.
I love languages, traveling and learning about different cultures. I have studied a few foreign languages myself: English, French, German and Chinese. I speak Spanish, too, since I was born in Argentina and moved to Italy when I was a child.
Qualifications & Experience
Besides a bachelor's degree in linguistic mediation and teaching Italian as a second language, I also have a master's degree in intercultural business communication. Some of the courses I took in the field of language teaching include modern languages didactics, foreign languages didactics and Italian for foreigners, whereas during my master's studies I've gained valuable additional knowledge of intercultural communication and negotiation, and completed training in active listening and conflict resolution.
I've been teaching Italian online to adult learners for 3 years, and, before that, I've also experienced tutoring in private language schools. During my years of experience as an Italian teacher, I've taught one-to-one online classes for students from beginner to advanced level, creating and adapting teaching methods and materials to meet students varying needs and interests.
Teaching Approach
I like to adapt each lesson to the students' personal needs and interests and use my knowledge and expertise to guide them at all times. I like to constantly ask for feedback in order to meet your requirements and adapt to your learning style, thus being able to build our study path together. I'm able to recognize when a student needs complete guidance versus when to give them more freedom in class.
According to your learning story and proficiency level, I will follow the European framework of reference for languages to bring your Italian to the next level. I work by following different official course programs and, according to your needs, I both create my own material and use open resources online.
We will share a whiteboard online and record at all times your progress and every new thing you learn with me, so that you don't have to worry about taking notes and can be fully focused on our lesson, hopefully having a good time.
