Hi, I'm Haruka.

I was born abroad and came back to Japan when I was five.

Now, I live in Tokyo with my parents, two dogs🐶, and two cats😺.

I am in to anime, manga, and VTubers, so I am glad to talk about that in class.

I am also an artist and like to paint and work with resin in my free time🎨🖌️.

Japanese traditional crafts, such as Tumamizaiku and Hariko are also other things I enjoy to do.

I speak fluent English, so if there is any trouble, I can explain or listen to you in English.

I really like to teach Japanese one on one, because I enjoy the interaction with different students and I feel it is meaningful.

I am currently studying at a Japanese university in Tokyo, majoring in linguistics.

I have teaching in a Japanese cram school, where I taught Japanese, English, and math to students.

I was actively involved in foreign student exchange programs in my high school, where I functioned as an interpreter for foreign students from the USA and Europe. I also helped foreign exchange students studying in Tokyo University by showing them around Tokyo (event organized by my high school).

I participated in a cultural exchange program in Vietnam, where I presented information about Japan to a large audience, as well as to smaller groups of Vietnamese students. I also helped them in their Japanese studies by giving them tips for learning Japanese.

I have tutored Japanese classmates, helping them with their English studies. I have also helped to proof-read some of their English projects and helped prepare them for English speech contests, as well as for their presentations (in English) at university.

In my classes I intend to focus on building your Japanese communication skills and help you speak confidently. I can explain Japanese grammar rules and sentence patterns, as well as vocabulary in English, as well as in Japanese if you prefer.

We can practice speaking using a specific textbook that you may be already using, or I can customize lessons that specifically meet your needs.

I also have conversation material which I can provide and give you PDF copies at the end of the class.
