My family and I moved to the Dominican Republic in 2007. There I was immersed in Spanish. It was "sink or swim" and I wanted to SWIM.
Once your mind is open to learning a new language other languages become easier to pick up.
I begin doing a volunteer work in 2009 and had to learn Haitian Creole. I loved it and have become an advanced level speaker. My family and I had the privilege of being asked to help translate from Spanish to Creole in local area hospitals in the Dominican Republic after the Haiti 2010 earthquake.
I worked as a director, owner and teacher of a very successful English school in Dominican Republic.
I have taught English online with a culturally diverse group of students for the last 10 years.
I am able to uniquely tailor lessons to help my students achieve greater success in learning English as well as having a keen ear for pronunciation.
I enjoy getting to know my students. I want to know about how they plan to use their new language and with that information I can tailor my lesson to be of real benefit.
In addition, I feel grammar, vocabulary and conversation are important aspects that should be included in ESL teaching. My goal is to always have my student leaving the class having learnt something new!
Excellent teacher. Our first lesson was very helpful. I'll book more lessons for sure.
Ok! Mrs Richardson contacted me in advance to be informed about my goals.
