I am a native speaker of Chinese (Mandarin) from Yantai which is a very beautiful seaside city in the eastern part of China.

I have been teaching in a middle school for 20 years since I graduated from Yantai Teachers' University in 1994. My major was English. I love both English and Chinese and I won the first prize of Mandarin Chinese competition when I was in the university. I speak pure Chinese without any accent so I often worked as a host when I was in the university, too. I also speak very fluent English so there isn't any difficulty in English speakers communicating with me which can help me a lot when teaching Chinese.

Since I have been a middle school teacher for many years, I have rich experience in teaching. In our school, there are over 60 students in one class so I am very patient. I have a lot of ways to make the class interesting.

I am an outgoing person. I like singing, dancing and traveling. I have a lot of friends from all over the world and I love making friends. The purpose of my teaching is not only to earn money, but also to make friends so I ask for a low tuition fee.

As an English graduate, I passed the exam of PETS Level 5 (the highest level) organized by Ministry of Education of China. I also passed National Accreditation Examinations for Translators and Interpreters (NAETI) Level III organized by National Education Examinations Authority and Beijing Foreign Studies University.

As a teacher, I passed Chinese Mandarin Test and got the certificate.

The ways of my teaching are according to different levels of learners.

If the learner can speak some Chinese (such as Chinese kids living abroad) but they can’t write or read, I will use the textbooks of Primary School. This set of books suit this kind of learner very well. It starts from the Chinese phonetic alphabet. After learning it, the learners can read the Chinese characters according to the spelling. Meanwhile, there are a lot of pictures on the textbook, they can help the kids learn to read and write Chinese characters. Beside, they can help to stimulate the interest to study Chinese. In addition, I will use a lot of tools to help with the teaching. For example, I have a lot of videos, flash, pictures which is related to the Chinese learning. Anyway, interest is the best teacher. If the learners lose interest, they will never learn it well. This set of books also suits adults who can speak a certain amount of Chinese.

If the learner is a green hand, I will use books specially prepared for foreigners. But I will also start from Chinese phonetic alphabet. This is like English letters and phonetic symbols to English-speaking people. Anyone who wants to learn Chinese well has to grasp the usage of Chinese phonetic alphabet. (pin-yin). Meanwhile, I will teach them easy Chinese characteristics and sentences. (just like the way Chinese students are learning English). Whenever the learners have time, they can also chat with me on Skype for free. As I said before, my purpose of teaching is not only to earn money, but also to make friends.
