About me - English
I am originally from London. My mother tongue is English.
As a child I lived in the south of Portugal for 3 years. As an adult I have lived in Porto, Portugal for three years, Berlin and I am now currently based in Madrid, Spain.
I enjoy film, music, art and anything related to travelling.
I can speak near fluent Portuguese. I have studied Spanish, French and German.
Qualifications & Experience
I have a BA in Hispanic Studies and I also have a CELTA certification which I completed in 2009.
I have been teaching English for 5 years. I have taught students ranging from Beginner to Proficient and further more I have prepared students for all the Cambridge exams including KET, PET, FCE, CAE and CPE.
For 2 years, as well as teaching, I was also an actor for a company which taught English through theatre. We travelled around the north of Portugal giving 1 hour shows in schools and theatres.
I have extensive experience of teaching Business English in company and via Skype.
Teaching Approach
I adapt my teaching approach depending on the preferences of my students and depending on their level. I enjoy discussing articles or videos which I send to my students prior to the lesson. I also like to work on developing the key skills listening, reading, writing and of course the fundamental skill which is speaking.
Above all I believe the lessons should be fun and stimulating. I am a patient teacher who enjoys what I do. I look forward to speaking to you!
