About me - English
Hello! My name is Tyler-Joshua Dryden from Brooklyn, N.Y.
I have a baccalaureates degree in English as well as in Creative Writing. I am also in the process of learning Spanish. I have worked with children ages 4 through 12 teaching proper English grammar and writing techniques. I create lesson plans based solely on the needs of my students. Upon our first class I will assess your language learning level and teach at a pace that you are comfortable with.
Being that I also am a language learner I am well aware of the frustrating grammar exercises and out dated text books making learning confusing and boring. I provide a fun interactive course with a plethora of media and games that will help immerse you in the English language. I will work with you to perfect your pronunciations by doing various exercises with vowels etc. I look forward to working with you.

Qualifications & Experience
I have experience teaching English for over 4 years with ESL students from various ages and places around the world. Also I have 2 Baccalaureates degrees with one in English and the other in Creative writing.
I have experience teaching English online and have taught over 100 online classes. I worked in an elementary school for 3 years as an English teacher for native English speaking students and ESL. While in college I began tutoring foreign exchange students who were having difficulty learning English. I then began teaching English online and have been doing so for one year.
Teaching Approach
I teach English using an unconventional and interesting approach. Instead of simply doing tedious grammar exercises I apply cultural based lessons that help to acclimate my students with their desired language for learning. This includes discussing and analysing music, news paper articles, television shows etc.
In my classes we dissect these different forms of culture and learn new phrases and vocabulary. It is easier to remember a phrase or vocabulary word from a song as opposed to a simple definition. My motto is understanding is better than memorization.
Also I encourage critical thinking through various questions and homework to reinforce what my students have learned. My background involves writing as a degree so I enjoy helping my students discover their creative writing skills in English.
With patience, understanding, and clarity I make English a fun and exciting language to learn and master.
