About me - English
Konnichiwa ;)
Hi! I am Miki. I am a native Japanese teacher with teacher certifications. I currently live in Ireland.
I grew up in Kanazawa where a new Shinkansen opened last March. Kanazawa is a beautiful city with a lot of historical streets. Kenrokuen, Higashi tea street, and Kanazawa Castle are some of famous places in Kanazawa. I am sure you will like my hometown!
I have been teaching in schools and also provided private lessons. I cater to all levels, Beginners, Intermediate, Advanced and Business. Here in Ireland I have assisted Japanese classes at Secondary schools in Dublin.
Teaching Japanese has always been my passion. I am here to help your passion for learning Japanese.
Qualifications & Experience
*5 years experience in teaching English at Junior High Schools in Japan
*Providing both public and private Japanese lessons
*A fully bilingual translator with a proven ability in translation of technical and non-technical documents from English to Japanese and Japanese to English
I also provide Japanese Calligraphy classes which is also a nice and artistic way to deepen knowledge of Hiragana, Katakana, Kanji characters and their history and culture. I am looking forward to talking about them in my lesson!
Teaching Approach
I work with official Japanese lesson/grammar books, following a well-structured and gradual learning process. Additionally, I focus on the use of interactive methods, trying to get the students involved in daily life situations, improving the listening comprehension and oral communication. I also regularly use in my classes other techniques such as reading, role plays and games.
