Hi, I am Tina. I was born in the States. However, my father was in the military so we moved around a lot as a child--a new school every year. This allowed me to adapt to new situations very quickly as well as learn about new cultures.

I was a foreign exchange student in Belgium for a year before finishing my university studies in Arizona. I received my degree in teaching and taught for 5 years before moving to Belgium.

I have been living in Belgium with my husband and two children for the past 13 years. It has been a very enriching experience in itself.

I enjoy writing stories, running half marathons and marathons, traveling, and spending some quality time with the family.

I have a BS in Education (Bachelor of Science) in Arizona at Norther Arizona University. I majored in English and French with a minor in English as a second language. I have been teaching English to non-native speakers for 17 years now to a large variety of individuals.

At the age of 22, I started to teach high school students and continued for 5 years. Then I moved to Belgium and started to teach business English up to present time. I teach a mixture of adults with a sprinkle of small children and teenagers to help with classwork or prepare for exams such as the TOEFL or SAT.

My business students range in fields such as pharmaceutical, finance, automotive, aeronautical, and many others. I also teach business writing--emails, presentation slides, reports, etc.

I teach one-on-one for children, teenagers, or adults from beginning to advanced levels. I like to use real situations to allow the student to see how they would be able to really use it. Moreover, I use songs or articles to create a more well rounded student through conversations. Most of all I like to cater to the students objectives.

I am extremely patient, understanding, and encouraging. I like to build the self confidence so learning will be fun and not a chore. Although the classes are fun, I demand full commitment from my students to put everything learned in class to use. I ask that if any homework is assigned that it be completed before the next class.

My pronunciation is clear with some exaggerations to help the student to reproduce some of those more difficult sounds in English.
