About me - English
I am Canadian born with a degree in Law and Justice from Laurentian University in Sudbury and Post Grade certificate in EU commercial law from Leicester in Lindon. I fell into teaching as I love helping people and because of a friend who thought I am patient and charismatic to teach.
I love music, dancing, Fintech. artificial intelligence topics, edutech, and art.
I am outgoing and love travelling too, hence the reason I moved to Barcelona.
Qualifications & Experience
I started working as an English tutor in Vancouver teaching conversational English to students aged 6 to adults from Korea, Japan and China for an Academy that helped improve accents, Pronunciation and vocabulary. At the same time I volunteered at the Immigration Society of British Columbia as tutor to help new immigrants adjust to living and working in BC. It was a great opportunity to give back and educate someone to enjoy Vancouver and understand the governmental processes.
I moved to Barcelona where I started teaching English as a second language to an online Academy Progressio in France and Training Express in Barcelona.
I still continue to teach English at Progressio where I work with executives and managers in different sectors via telephone.
As well, I teach a part time BA in Business Communication at the Geneva Business School (Barcelona Campus) during the school year.
Teaching Approach
My approach to English teaching is tackling the weakness of the learners whether it be vocabulary, grammar, or comprehension. by providing them with tools to help them develop in order to build their confidence level. Most people have the basics but find it hard to express themselves and therefore lacks the will to push forward in learning. I love giving my learners real life scenarios role play activities as it pushes them to speak and they can relate to issues.
As well, with the tools available online like Ted talk, videos and audios, can act as a guide to my learners.
