Hi! I'm Weng, a native English speaker from Manila, Philippines. I am 46 years old and have spent 2 decades teaching English to Asian and European English learners. I have taught in classroom, individual tutorial - face to face, and online settings. My students are of different ages, nationalities, and English skills. In addition, I also taught Filipino or Tagalog language online.

With regards to ESL/EFL Lessons, I taught at a public science high school and have handled English Grammar, Phonics, Composition Writing, Journalism, and Technical Writing. I have also experienced to be a Demonstration Teacher and a Teacher Trainer in the Department of Education in my division.

My online ESL classes have been a combination of all my previous lessons plus preparation lessons for TOEIC, IELTS, GCSE , Job Interview, and Business English.

It is a pleasure for me to meet students from different parts of the world, we get to exchange ideas and learn about each other's cultures and traditions.

During my free time, I enjoy reading books from my favourite authors, John Grisham and Robert Ludlum. I'm also into gardening and cooking. When time and finances permit, my family go on leisure trips to any of the 7100 islands in my country. We also do volunteer work together.

I motivate my students to express themselves freely in conversations, correct them in a subtle way when they commit mistakes, and explain the corrections done. After a trial phase, I try to tailor cut the lessons to remedy their weaknesses. Another is to immerse them in oral reading to build their vocabulary, reduce their accent and improve their pronunciation. Discussing the content of the material also develops their comprehension, as well as their reasoning and speaking skills.

Ako po si Weng, 46 taong gulang at nakatira sa Manila, Philippines. Dalawampung taon na po akong nagtuturo ng English, sa pampublikong paaralan, sa isahan at pribadong pagtuturo, ganoon din sa internet.

Nagtuturo din po ako ng Filipino/Tagalog sa iba't ibang nasyonalidad na nagnanais matuto ng wikang ito, sa pribadong isahang pagtuturo at sa internet gamit ang Skype.

Marunong din po akong magsalita ng Ilokano, Bikolano, Cebuano, at Ilonggo.

Ammok met iti ag-sa-o iti Ilokano, ken kayat ko agluto iti denengdeng.

Tatao man ako magbinikol, kahibalo man ako maghambal sang Cebuano kag Ilonggo.

Mahilig po akong magbasa ng mga librong science fiction at mga istorya sa korte. Paborrito kong mga manunulat sina John Grisham at Robert Ludlum. Karagdagan dito, gustong gusto ko ring ang paghahalaman. Nakatira ang pamilya ko sa isang rural na komunidad, malapit sa Manila, kaya maraming bakanteng lote akong napagtataniman ng mga halamang namumulaklak, gulay, at namumungang mga puno.

Nakatapos ako ng dalawang kurso sa kolehiyo, isa sa pagiging enhenyero at sa pagiging guro. Napamahal na sa akin ang pagtuturo anupa't nais ko na itong maging karera habam-buhay.

Para sa akin ang pagtuturo ng English sa iba't ibang nasyonalidad ay isang kapana-panabik at nakapagbibigay sayang trabaho,

Ang paggamit ng English sa pagsasalita o pakikipag-usap ay napakabisang paraan upang matuto ng husto ang mag-aaral. Lakip nito ang pagbibigay ng mga puna at payo sa estudyante.
