About me - English
Hello all and welcome to my profile!
Allow me to introduce myself: I´m Paul, a 46-year old native Dutch teacher living in Rio de Janeiro since 2015. Yes, I moved there for love ,) I´ve been teaching for 10 years now and I can honestly say it is my passion. In my opinion it is the best way to directly improve someone else´s life and that gives me gratification. I have experience with all levels and use ´Contact: Nederlands voor anderstaligen´ aswell as my own material. I always find it important to mix disciplines, because they go hand in hand. My teaching style is more on the informal side, but still professional. I like to use humor during my classes as I think we learn more quickly when we enjoy studying.
In 2020 I adopted a dog, Leffe (yes, named after the Belgian beer) who is the love of my life. I enjoy going out with him, watching basketball, watching movies and traveling (yes, all with him when possible).

Qualifications & Experience
I´ve been teaching Dutch online since 2013 and I´ve been doing it ever since. I have a lot of experience with complete beginners, but am capable of teaching all levels. I do have references, however (being new to Verbalplanet) not on here. But I can show them in case necessary!
Teaching Approach
As mentioned above, I am a professional, informal teacher who uses humor as a fundamental part of the methodology. I am not strict, however do like clear agreements so everyone is happy. I use my own planning in terms of the topic of the classes, but am completely open to adapting it to any specific needs/wishes my students might have.
