안녕하세요 :) I am Lian (Korean name 혜련, Hae-ryon), a full-time professional Korean teacher!
I am a curious person with sunny personality. I have lots of interests (the biggest one being Swing dance recently), enjoy listening to stories of other people. During my classes, I encourage my students to share their own stories in Korean by providing a safe place to do so.
I value "Play", "Growth", and "Connection" in life, and try to make sure that I have these three important elements whatever I do - of course in class as well!

Qualifications
- Master's degree in KFL(Korean as a foreign language) (Graduated Hankuk university of foreign studies in 2020)
- A certificated Korean teacher
- Fluent in English and Chinese, intermediate-level in Spanish
Experience
- Have been teaching since 2017 both in Korea and abroad (Spain, Lithuania, Taiwan and Malaysia)
- Have been teaching in different institutes including universities, king Sejong institutes, an international school, companies
- A lot of online teaching experience (since 2021)
- Currently working as a full-time Korean teacher, based in Seoul.
Teaching Approach
- In 1:1 classes, I teach based on the student's needs and request.
- "Use" the student's interests for classes (e.g. If the student likes K-POP, I use some lyrics of his or her favorite songs to teach)
- In general, my focus is on communication, so I encourage my students to speak a lot.
- Explain vocab/grammar points very clearly.
- Use different kinds of materials (Not only e-book, but also K-drama videos, reading materials etc) depending on the student's level in order to help them improve Korean in a fun and effective way.
