About me - Portuguese - Europe
I'm a teacher of Portuguese and English in a public school in Portugal and have been teaching for 38 years. I also trained teachers of Portuguese and English, during several years, directed or have been involved in management of a cluster of public schools (what we call in Portuguese "Agrupamento de Escolas") for many years. I am also a writer, with two fiction books published so far. I am about to retire in a couple of years but I really would like to keep on teaching if I may. I am looking forward to meeting new students.
Qualifications & Experience
Major degree in Languages and Literatures (Universidade Clássica de Lisboa/Faculdade de Letras)
Professional teaching training master (Universidade do Minho)
Teaching Approach
Depending on the knowledge the student already has on the language and culture and the objectives the student intends to reach, I will define the best plan to help the student reach those objectives easily and quickly. With the student's interests in mind, conversation, reading, grammar, etc. I will also refer to some differences between European Portuguese and Brazilian Portuguese.
