Konnichiwa! I was born in Japan and I am a native Japanese speaker. I spent my childhood around the Kansai area and grew up in traditional Japanese culture. I have been living in the USA for 21 years, near New York City, and every day I enjoy discovering new cultures and lifestyles from people of different ethnicities. I love teaching and learning new languages. Teaching languages gives me the opportunities to not only discover the differences between my culture and yours, but also gives me an insight to the heart of my own culture.
I started teaching Japanese in private and public sectors in NY State government. I earned my Master of Education in NYC. I served as a Japanese language consultant at Berlitz and joined the worldwide project for revising the teacher's manuals. I've been teaching Japanese in several Universities in the New York City and New Jersey area for over 17 years. I teach Japanese to elementary/high school students to adults from beginner to Advanced level. I also help prepare high school students for AP Japanese examination.
My goal is to develop well‐balanced speaking, listening, writing and reading skills. I offer a learning program custom-made for each student needs. I have experience teaching Japanese to all types of learners: children, teens, and adults, business people, beginner to advanced level.
