My name is Patrick Bringuier. I was born in Montpellier, in the South of France. Since 2001, I have been living in the UK where I have been teaching mostly French and Italian at all levels.

I am passionate about my work and very dedicated to my students. I find it really rewarding that, thanks to my teaching, my students are improving and feel more and more self-confident using my mother tongue.

I adore travelling because I think it is the best way to discover and enjoy other people and cultures. I read a lot and I am particularly interested in history, geography, literature and languages. I speak French, English, Italian, Spanish with some Modern Greek, Arabic, Hebrew and Occitan. I like cooking - French and foreign dishes for family and friends.

I am an easy-going, enthusiastic and patient tutor, always keen on helping and supporting students who would like to learn French.

In 1980, I received my Master's Degree from the University Montpellier III - Paul Valéry College of Humanities - to teach Italian as a foreign language.

In 2003, I obtained a Certificate to teach French as a foreign language - Licence de Français Langue Étrangère - from the University of Grenoble - College of Humanities Stendhal.

In the UK, I have been teaching mainly French and occasionally Italian, over 14 years, for various colleges, mostly Adult Education Centres. Also, I am giving private tuition to adults learning French for fun or for professional reasons. In addition, I teach one-to-one lessons to students who are preparing their French GCSE or A/ Level.

My other work experiences outside the UK :

In France : In Montpellier :

- I gave general Italian courses during 3 years for a Cultural Centre of Mediterranean Civilizations.

- Also, I taught Business Italian for a Business School of undergraduates.

- I worked, as well, for a private college, teaching French as a foreign language.

Privately, I gave lessons of general Italian to teenagers preparing their baccalauréat examination ( A/Level ).

In Italy: in Chiavari ( Province of Genoa ) I taught general French during a schooling year, at a Technical Institute of Engineering.

As I teach French from Beginners to Advanced students - I always adjust my lesson to the level of my individual student.

Firstly, I focus my tutoring on the speaking aspect of the language, without forgetting, of course, precise explanations of grammatical structures we may come across during the lesson, from the simplest ones to the most complicated. For that reason, homework will be given to monitor students comprehension of any grammar rule, and to check learners ability to use it properly.

Listening, reading and writing will be equally important - the media I use where applicable will be: interviews, newspapers, magazines articles, poems, songs, dialogues taken from real life and so on. I like to teach in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Moreover, I spend as much time as necessary to help my students to overcome any language difficulty they might experience during their lesson.

I want to make sure that they are really enjoying my lessons and benefit from what they are learning.
