About me - English

Konnichiwa, ogenki desuka?

I was born and raised in Japan. I now live in the Netherlands.

I was the company owner of a language school in Shinjuku, Tokyo for 8 years. We were specialised in teaching Japanese from beginner to business levels for European and Asian ex-pats living in the Tokyo area. I also taught Japanese as a headteacher in addition to training other Japanese teachers. I have a total of 18 years of teaching experiences in language industries. I also have work experiences in hotel / travel, media / TV production, and business consulting industries.

Currently, I have students from the UK, the USA, Germany, Italy, France, Denmark, Sweeden, Australia, Canada, Singapore, Indonesia, China, and Japan.

It is always interesting for me to teach people with different work experiences and backgrounds : ) Because I believe that teaching a language always opens my new world!

Don’t worry, if you don’t speak a word of Japanese. Everyone has to start from somewhere… In fact, I am learning Dutch now!

Let’s enjoy learning Japanese language and culture with me!

Qualifications & Experience

Here are some examples of my course plans and teaching experiences,

„ÄźBeginner / Pre-Intermediate Japanese„ÄĎ

You learn really slowly from Hiragana and Katakana to basic Kanji and focuses on daily conversations.

You will learn...

‚óŹIntroducing yourself both polite and casual ways for the first meetings.

‚óŹTalking about you: your hobby, work, interests, county, and family.

‚óŹLearning a different way of greetings depending on situations.

‚óŹAsking about other people and keeping smooth conversations.

‚óŹIntonation and pronunciation practices.

‚óŹJapanese body languages and mannerisms.

‚ÄĽFor Intermediate / Advanced level students, I use not only textbooks but also news articles

from newspapers or magazine and current topics from the TV program to have discussions.

„ÄźJLPT Exam Preparation„ÄĎ

I have taught all levels from N5 to N1. I also have teaching materials for all the levels.

I am qualified to teach all levels of JLPT exams.

„ÄźTravel / Survival Japanese„ÄĎ

Useful for people who are planning to visit to Japan for pleasure & fun or business.

You will learn...

‚óŹGetting on the various transportation and checking in the hotel.

‚óŹGoing shopping and ordering in the restaurant.

‚óŹAsking for directions on the streets and the stations.

‚óŹWhat to do in 'Onsen' (hot spring) place?„ÄÄ

‚óŹMoney and numbers.

‚óŹManners and customs.

‚óŹGeography of Japan.

„ÄźBusiness Japanese„ÄĎ

Introducing you to learn how to deal with Japanese people in real business situations.

You will learn...

‚óŹVisiting another company for the first time.

‚óŹWay of exchanging business cards.

‚óŹIntroducing yourself and being introduced to others.

‚óŹ'do' and 'don't' in Japanese business meeting.

‚óŹGiving compliments and expressing gratitude.

‚óŹAt the business dinner.

‚óŹTelephone conversations.

Teaching Approach

‚óŹI like using various worksheets as my teaching materials. But if students want to use textbooks, I use Genki, Japanese for Busy People, Minna no Nihongo and others.

‚óŹI also create course plans for students according to their needs. For example, travelling, JLPT preparations, business meeting /mannerism, or focused on conversations lessons.

‚óŹI have some experience in developing online teaching methods and designing new curriculums for Japanese languages lessons.
