Hello, my name is Miguel Frontado and I'm an experienced English language tutor currently living in Venezuela. I have been teaching English online since 2018. I am currently offering a free initial trial lesson for new students.
About me - English

I am a Venezuelan English and Spanish teacher from Mérida, Venezuela. I am a music lover and rock music is my passion, however, I enjoy many other kinds of music. I enjoy playing the guitar and sometimes I write songs.

I love reading science fiction literature, classic literature and poetry, my favorite writers are William Gibson, Horacio Quiroga, Julio Garmendia, James Joyce, Edgar Allan Poe, among many others. I also enjoy writing. I have written short plays just for fun. I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. I have always thought establishing solid bonds with the ones around you makes you happier.

Qualifications & Experience

I studied Modern Languages at Universidad de Los Andes and I am currently doing a Master in Education.

I have taught English as a foreign language for over nine years at an English institute in Venezuela. I taught Spanish to high school students and later I taught tourists in my home town. I have also conducted researches in English as a foreign language and online learning. I was a member of the team that designed Cevam's online programs curriculum. I am currently a member of VenTESOL, a member of TESOL international. There I volunteer helping English teachers in Venezuela providing them with information through a network. I am also into translation. I helped with the translation of Venezuelan expressions of a modern Latin American classic by Antonia Palacios called Ana Isabel, una niña decente (Ana Isabell, a respectable girl) My article, Lo Universal en Shakespeare: la Teoría de las Formas presente en el Soneto 53 (The Universal in Shakespeare: The Theory of Forms present in Sonnet 53) was published on a university magazine called Piedra de Toque.

Teaching is my passion, I have always loved teaching because it helps me to connect my knowledge with people. Throughout the years, I have met wonderful people in my country and from other parts of the world.

Teaching Approach

I think teaching should lead students to independency. Languages are for communication and the communicative process requires self-confidence.

As a teacher, I like providing students with this confidence so they can explore their capacities. I often interact with my student to find out what they do not understand. I also like implementing critical thinking in my lessons to let students think and use the language from the reflexions they can come up with.
