About me

I am one of the most broadly experienced English trainers on the market with an equivalent of more than 13 full time working years of teaching. I have directly taught numerous high level corporate employees and government officials through Berlitz. They include a Brazilian senator (part of the inner presidential circle), a Brazilian agricultural delegate at the United Nations (New York headquarters), a Japanese consul-general in China tasked with attending to the Japanese prime minister during a G7 summit in China, an Italian ex3cutive in charge of overall operations of a German supermarket chain in China, and many others. I also have a lot of experience teaching reading and writing to high school students as well as teaching IELTS (the Academic and General tests for college/university application and immigration purposes) which is recognised by governments and institutions in Canada, the U.K., Ireland, Australia, and New Zealand.

Qualifications & Experience

This experience is supported by my native Canadian English communication skills. Formally, I have a Political Science degree from the University of British Columbia, a TESOL license from Global TESOL College (accredited by the Government of Canada), a Berlitz Language Training Certificate, a TMC Cross Cultural Training Certificate, and a half completed MBA from Heriot-Watt University. Copies of these credentials are available upon request.

Teaching Approach

My teaching approach is to assess students for their current skill levels and then proceed to equip them with the tools that will reinforce areas where their skills are lacking. The next step is to help them use these tools in application practice followed by feedback on the good and the weak. Rubrics are available for tracking and quantifying newly achieved skill levels.
