About me - English
Hello! Thank you for visiting my profile!
My name is Karen(香恋), and I am native Japanese speaker and I just recently moved to Taiwan. I am currently studying as an exchange student in Taiwan for 1 year starting in September. I was born and raised in Tokyo, Japan.
I speak English fluently, intermediate Korean and basic Mandarin (Beijing dialect). Personally, I have confidence in my accent in both Korean and Mandarin!
I love language learning, traveling, and reading books!
I also love sharing Japanese culture and discovering/experiencing other cultures.
Qualifications & Experience
First of all, I am very glad that many people are interested in Japanese! I used to teach English to children/Japanese high school students at cram school, and I have also participated in Japanese classes that are offered in my home university mainly for exchange students.
I loved teaching my international friends who are studying Japanese, especially those who are self-studying Japanese. By helping my friends in studying Japanese, it motivates me in studying the language that I'm currently studying.
Also, I'm majoring and taking a Japanese Language teacher license in my university. The reason I decided to take these fields of study is because I can develop my skills in teaching foreign students and to enhance my knowledge in teaching Japanese.
I know language learning is hard and can be stressful. As a teacher, I am eager to help you with all your problems in studying Japanese. I love teaching Japanese in an easy and fun way.
Currently, I am teaching elementary Japanese and sharing the Japanese culture/moral values at my exchange university in Taiwan. My students are mainly Taiwanese students who are very interested in visiting Japan or willing to study in Japan as an exchange student. I am happy that lots of people are willing to know about Japan more.
Teaching Approach
My lesson will be mainly focusing in listening and speaking (free-talking/conversational partner).
But of course, I can also give you advises on how to memorize Hiragana, Katakana, and Kanji as well as teach you how to use Japanese grammar properly.
If you have your own Japanese textbook that you would like to use, please feel free to let me know the title and topic of the textbook so that I can make it easier for both of us to conduct the lesson.
I can help you with..
1. Listening
2. Speaking (conversational partner)
3. Pronunciation
4. Vocabularies
5. Japanese writing style (Hiragana, Katakana, Kanji)
6. Slang and common expression
7. Reading (easy Japanese articles or Manga)
8. Sharing/discovering Japanese culture
As it is written above, I can also share Japanese culture so please don't hesitate to ask me anything! If you don't know how and what to say something in Japanese, don't worry! I will help you from the beginning!
