Hi. I am a native speaker from Manchester, U.K., and I have been living and teaching E.S.L in physical classrooms in Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam since 2009. I have many interests including reading, travel, health and fitness, history, art, teaching, and esp. horticulture . I love working with young people, helping them learn a skill which can have huge benefits to their personal future.
I have 9 years experience in teaching general English classes in South East Asia, everything from Kindergarten to University. I am very experienced in providing activity filled ESL lessons, where the focus is almost always on speaking skills. I have done a lot of I.E.L.T.S. preparation for the speaking test , and one to one private work with students working in the hotel or tour and travel industries in Cambodia and Vietnam. My ESL qualifications are from I to I training provider in U.K, a 20 hour intro. course, then add on certificates, Young Learners, Teaching One to One, Business English. In the U. K., I studied Amenity Horticulture to NVQ level 3. I consider myself an informal, Life Long Learner, and an experienced ESL instructor.
I love to encourage students creativity and critical thinking. I encourage students to talk about themselves, and things they are genuinely interested in. I use information questions, music, movie clips, games and activities whenever possible in my physical classes. Mistakes are tolerated and learnt from, everyone is encouraged to contribute to the group, I m very passionate and sincere about my work, and I m delighted that the vast majority of students I meet are the same. I believe in eliciting information, constant review,Immersion English, and that practice makes perfect.
