About me - English
I am a fully-qualified, highly-experienced teacher (PGCE - Post Graduate Certificate of Education) (CELTA - Cambridge English Language Teaching certificate) who has now been teaching English in Moscow for nine years. I am a communicative, conversational teacher who covers all aspects of English teaching and who has a broad range of students.
I taught in the British secondary school system for 10 years teaching French, Maths and English primarily but also covering many other mainstream secondary subjects. I also have primary school experience having taught a Year 6 class (aged 10-11).
During my time in Moscow, I have taught top managers at Avito, INNOVA, Sberbank, mail.ru, Levi's jeans Moscow head office, Nikon and other similar companies.
I also worked for 2 years at Raduga/Zolotoye Secheniya school and taught many children privately after school. I have prepared many Russian children for entrance to the private boarding school system in the UK and also helped a number of students pass IELTS in order to go to university in the UK. I have done specific exam preparation with Russian students as well as teaching Business English from Pre-Intermediate to Advanced level.

I have been teaching English in Moscow since November 2009. Prior to that, I worked as a teacher in the English education system from January 2001. I have taught English abroad in Belgium for 3 years in the late 90's.
Both my parents were teachers, my mother taught Russian at Bradford University and my father was Professor or Russian Studies at Surrey University near London.
Teaching Approach
I have a communicative approach to teaching English where I prioritise conversation practise in various situations discussing everything from current affairs, culture and the arts, sport and personal and family matters to the student's personal interests and hobbies. I have a fun approach to teaching children incorporating various games into my lessons as well as listening, reading, writing and speaking, general knowledge tests, Brainbox, memory tests. I have been teaching children for nearly 20 years and particularly enjoy working with children and teenagers. I have 3 children of my own and 3 grandsons.
