Teaching Approach
My teaching approach is conversational based by selecting topics that interest the student as well as choosing new/challenging topics that will force the student to think differently and expand the students vocabulary. I also like to use games and small challenges such as flash cards, pictures and sounds to challenge the student to use other areas of the brain and to communicate in English. I always ensure the lessons are fun and engaging but at the same time the student is being challenged whilst learning and practising their English.
I always aim for the student to be speaking at least 80% of the lesson rather than the teaching talking for the majority of the lesson. This allows for continued and repetitive practice and significantly new word retention and fluidity.
