Thank you and welcome to my profile.
My name is Liam and I live in South-West England in an 18th Century cottage - in a small friendly English town. I am taking a sabbatical from teaching in schools. I am starting the process of working towards a PhD in English ( although this will be some years away). Hence, looking outwards to the world by hopefully meeting you. Meanwhile, I will read, study and spend time with my family and cats.
I have lived and traveled extensively across the world and visited 64 countries to date. In my career as an educator. I have taught over 70 nationalities and have learnt so much myself about their cultures, religions and daily life. The world really can be a small place if we choose to communicate.
I am a passionate educator who has been working in the United Kingdom and in schools in Europe, South-East Asia and South America. I have been teaching for 16 years. I have two degrees: BA Dual (Honours) History and Political Science and BA (Honours) in English Literature. I have a TEFL qualification and have taught foreign language learners my whole career. I hold a Post Graduate Certificate in Education and hold Qualified Teacher Status. I am a UK registered teacher.
I have had the pleasure of working in world leading schools in international education as well as in a leading UK school. I have been invited several times to the Department for Education in London - looking at UK English teaching provision.
I have been an examiner for British exam boards and the International Baccalaureate . I can teach the IB English A and English B. In addition, iGCSE English Language and Literature. And finally the Cambridge FCE.
Pedagogy shouldn't be complex. My approach will focus on what YOU would like and how YOU would like to learn. Whether you are a beginner and need to learn the very basics or an advanced speaker wanting academic or business English. I can match my style to suit your needs.
I am qualified to teach all forms of writing and speech. I am happy to teach all styles of writing - formal and informal. Formal English speaking and colloquial casual English.
I love words. I love reading. I adore creative writing. I am happy to work with your interests.
I hope to meet you soon.
