Hey, my name is Yeonju S. I am native speaker of Korean.
I studied business administration and I'm a student of Sookmyung Women's university in Seoul. I'm living in Germany at the moment after finishing my exchange semester.
I love learning new languages and getting to know people from all over the world.
I know how hard it is to learn foreign languages, because I also learned English almost by myself in Korea. However, I can speak English fluently now so I think everyone can achieve a goal of speaking in foreign language fluently even though you don't study abroad.
Looking forward to meeting you :) Thank you!
During my exchange semester, I taught Korean to German students whose majors are Koreanistik. I helped them with starting from the really basic to daily conversation. We sometimes did role-playing in Korean, so they can literally speak Korean when they travel or study there. Not only the language itself, I introduced the unique culture of Korea such as superstition, recent social issues and so on. I loved the job and it was meaningful experience for me as well that I could introduce the culture of my country and teach Korean.
Also, I have participated Tandem(language exchange partners) since last year October consistently. Through the program, I could teach the way of how to speak natural Korean and helped to improve their grammar and reading skills.
Other than that, I am also doing English speaking online tutoring to Koreans so I know how I can help foreign-language learners.
'Hangeul' which is the alphabet of Korean is one of the easiest part to start learning Korean. But this beginning should be done right. I can teach you in a fast and easy way.
Also, there are numerous grammars and exceptions as well in Korean. I taught this part to my German friends with some example sentences and you can apply easily to new sentences. Plus, I can improve your pronunciation and practice daily conversation with you.
Learning Korean only from textbook could be especially awkward compared to other languages. Koreans use a lot of slangs in their daily conversation and verbal Korean is a bit different to the literary one. I could teach you the natural way of speaking Korean.
My teaching approach can be changed to the level of the learner, but it's mainly based on speaking, broadening vocabularies and Grammar.
