I have just returned to live in England after spending 28 years living in Tokyo Japan. During my time in Japan I taught students of many levels and ages. I have taught students of different nationalities so I understand the difficulties that students have learning English. I have traveled extensively and I also speak Spanish and Japanese.

I am vegetarian and interested in sports and healthy living. I also love animals and I am involved in Animal Rights and I have volunteered with various animal rescue groups.

I obtained my Further Education Teacher Qualification from Aylesbury College in 1980

University of Cambridge TOEFL Qualification in 1992.

1999-March 2019, Teaching private lessons to children and adults of various levels . Conversational English, Business English in Tokyo Japan .

2015- March 2019, ECC kindergarten teacher. Teaching classes of up to 30 children ranging from 3-6 years old in Tokyo and Yokohama

1993-99 English Studio Meguro, Tokyo. Private language school where I was responsible for curriculum design and teaching a wide range of students

1992-3 International school Mita , Tokyo. International kindergarten teaching children between 2-6 years old.

I am able to adapt my teaching to the specific needs of each student. If the student wants to learn business English then I often use text books and do a lot of role play.

If a student just wishes to chat about news/ themselves then this is possible too. I always speak slowly and clearly so that the student is able to understand easily. I try to make the student relaxed and comfortable and not worry about making mistakes, the more the student is able to practice the quicker they will improve.
