A Serbian Master's student of Medieval history and Slavic culture with a passion for his study field and a Bachelor’s degree in History.
As a hobby, I bridge language & culture gaps between online communities on social media. I'm a translator & researcher for several pages and channels, which introduce Slavic culture and tradition to English speakers.
I am a self-employed English teacher with four years of experience and a native speaker of Serbo-Croatian. Currently, I provide English lessons to university and high school students face-to-face (mostly helping them with the English tenses). I create a steady-paced and friendly learning environment for my students.
I've also done translation work for the University of Nis Student’s Union for their foreign exchange schemes.
Several Serbian schools in Nis city employed me as a History teacher as part of my Bachelor's degree internships.
I reached a B2 level of English as part of my high school & university education.
When teaching I mostly utilize & favor three main approaches:
1. Communicative Approach: I give students task assignments to figure out, let them solve various problems with narration or negotiation in the target language, make them think critically & ask questions.
2. Task-based Learning: Each time I set students tasks on specific topics to complete with the target language using resources like articles, films, etc. (about history, music, popular culture, etc.).
3. Reading Method: I teach students to read and understand scholarly articles only in their own field of study with its specific vocabulary & terms.
